Best Overall: INFINITIPRO BY CONAIR Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron

The InfinitiPro Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron is one of the bestselling Conair flat irons, bar none.

It has extra long plates so you can take bigger sections at a time for a quicker straightening session.

It also comes in three different widths – 1”, 1 ¼” and 1 ¾” – if you have extra long tresses, a wider plate may be in order. 

The straightener has a good range of temperature controls, with 30 variable heat settings that can be selected by a rotating dial.

Though it has an impressive number of heat settings, I do wish it had actual temperature readings to choose from. It just has numbered settings from 1-30, with the highest maxing out at 455°F. 

According to the instructions, you should keep the setting between 1-8 and for delicate or fine hair types.

The heat up time is impressive at 15 seconds (yes it really does heat up that quickly), and it’s lightweight to boot. You’ll know it’s ready to use when the red light stops flashing.

It can tame frizzy, thick hair into smooth, straight locks for a fraction of the cost of other brands. If your hair is more resistant though, I’d look to the titanium plates for more heat transfer power.

In my opinion, this is the best Conair straightener for most hair types.

Best Budget Iron: Conair Double Ceramic Flat Iron

The Conair Ceramic Double Flat Iron comes in a classy white and rose color combination, and is one of the most affordable hair straighteners around.

The iron offers a lot of versatility in sizing, with three different versions – a 1”, 1 ½” and a 2”. This gives you a lot of liberty to pick the most suitable size depending on whether you have short, medium or long hair.

Its plates are also longer than average, so you can work with bigger sections at a time.

The straightener has floating plates with Double Ceramic technology, which basically means that they have a higher ceramic content than usual – guaranteeing more effective, more even styling.

Although it heats up in only thirty seconds, I’m not the biggest fan of its temperature control options. 

There are only 5 predetermined heat settings to choose from, and while this may be enough for some, I prefer to have more control over my heat settings. 

Another issue with this iron is that the plates do not close all the way, and a slight gap persists even when pressed together. 

As a result, you either need to clamp the iron very tightly, or your strands will slip through the plates; which makes the whole experience a tad bit tiring.

On the whole however, for the price, it is a fairly decent tool.

Best Titanium Iron: INFINITIPRO BY CONAIR Rainbow Titanium Flat Iron

First things first: let’s talk about the design of this straightener.

Its build is extremely sleek, with a shiny black exterior and the plates are brilliant hues of the rainbow. It definitely looks fancier than it costs.

Even the plate technology is pretty power-packed for the price point. It has extra long, floating 1” plates made up of titanium. 

The plates heat up nicely and evenly, and its smart heat recovery system also maintains the temperature at the set point so that you can style evenly.

The iron generates negative ions, which counteract the positive ions found in dry, frizzy hair. For what it’s worth, it does a good job at creating shine and smoothness, though it might take 2-3 passes for that ultra sleek look and feel.

It heats up to 455°F in only 30 seconds, and clicks when it’s ready to use. 

Like the Double Ceramic Flat Iron, it has fewer heat settings to choose from (only 6), which makes it a little tricky to select an optimum temperature.

If you want a cool-looking styling tool (and let’s be real, some of us do choose a flat iron based on looks) – this one’s for you. 

Best for Short Hair and Bangs: Conair Instant Heat ¾” Ceramic Flat Iron

The Conair Instant Heat Ceramic Flat Iron is available in two widths: a narrow ¾” option and a wide 2” one.

If you have short hair, the ¾” version is a great choice for you, as it will allow you to work closer to the roots and achieve a more uniform style. (It’s also great for styling bangs.)

The appliance looks slightly bulky in pictures but I was pleasantly surprised when I held it in my hand, as it is compact at only 8 inches long. It’s also lightweight to boot.

It has ceramic coated floating plates, and there’s a slight curve in the exterior that makes it easy to hold and handle. For those wondering, yes, it works well for curling too (though keep in mind it makes looser curls than you’d get with a curling iron).

One nice thing about this iron is the Turbo Heat Boost. Pressing this button instantly increases temperature by 36°F, which gives you a quick burst of heat for those finicky areas that just refuse to be tamed.

However, the burst is short lived and you need to keep pressing the button if you want another boost. 

On fine hair, the iron works perfectly fine without the Turbo Boost, but for more resistant hair it is a great feature. 

It heats up in a quick 30 seconds, and gets to a maximum temperature of 400°F.

Best for Natural Hair: Conair Professional Nano Silver Ceramic Ultra Thin Flat Iron

This tool is part of the Conair Professional or ConairPRO line, which is meant for use by professional hair stylists and beauticians. 

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t use it at home. In fact, with this tool you can get a salon-like finish right from the comfort of your own home. 

Its 1” wide plates are a blend of ceramic and silver, and are extended length to cover more ground in one go.

The plates give a gentle, even, but effective heat to straighten all the little kinks and curls out of curly, coily type 3 and 4 hair. It also works impressively on thick hair.

It’s got an impressive 50 heat settings controlled by a rotating dial. The maximum temperature it reaches is 450°F.

Although the dial only has numbers on it, the complete list of corresponding temperatures for each setting is listed on the back of the box.

One thing I love about this iron is that it has a 10’ long swivel cord, which is longer than other Conair models and gives you lots of room to maneuver.

While this flat iron costs more than most other Conair ceramic flat irons, it is also sturdier and built to last. Many users have had their Nano Silver Ceramic for years, so it’s a worthy investment if you straighten your hair often.

Are Conair Flat Irons Good?

Conair hair straighteners are solid, decent flat irons for the price you pay. They don’t always have the fastest heat recovery between passes, but you can get nice results if you work with smaller sections at a time.

They also combine titanium and ceramic in some models like the INFINITIPRO Rainbow Titanium for heat efficiency and temperature consistency.

Conair is available pretty much anywhere you can buy hair products. You’ll usually see it in your neighborhood drugstore or retail chain store, which is great if you like to physically see and hold a product before purchasing. 

At the same time, Conair hair styling appliances are also easy to find online (usually with better deals).

Adjustable Heat Settings

Most Conair flat irons come with at least some variable heat settings so you can adjust to what works for you. Some models only have a few options, while others have as many as 50 temperature settings.

The controls are either buttons or a rotating dial depending on the model. 

I always prefer a digital display and less preset temperature settings, but the options are generally fine for most users.

In case you’re wondering why some straighteners are labelled INFINITIPRO by Conair and others simply Conair, let me break it down for you. 

Conair is the parent company, and InfinitiPro is simply one of its brand product lines.

InfinitiPro flat irons have higher heat settings, maxing out at 450°F or 455°F, while Conair flat irons generally only get up to 400°F or 410°F. 

Other than that, there is no major difference between the two. 

Should You Get A Conair Flat Iron? 

If you’re on a budget and need a decent flat iron that does the job without a lot of fuss, you should definitely consider a Conair hair straightener.

Whether it’s a ceramic or titanium flat iron, a narrow or wide plate, a Conair flat iron works quite well with a bit of practice and effort.
